While it may feel good to tell the UN to **** off and to pull out, strategically speaking, it makes more sense to stay involved.
So NOW. The US has pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal and put sanctions on Iran. And "Iran’s economy has faltered" since then.
Iran protested and sued to the International Court of Justice, which is the judicial arm of the UN. And the ICJ court ruled in favor of Tehran.
Iran's "reason" for suing in the first place? The sanctions violated the 1955 Treaty of Amity.

So, the UN has bullied the USA yet again, and the USA is fighting back. Now that we have a real leader at the helm.
Meanwhile, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China are skirting the US sanctions and doing whatever they want, trading with Iran.
