Limo crash in upstate NY, 20 dead...

This happened on this past Saturday afternoon. Limo driver with 17 passengers blows a stop sign, collects 2 pedestrians... total of 20 dead.

From all the pictures I've seen, the limo was intact and not split open as I would expect. It didn't appear to have gone far off the road like over an embankment or had taken a significant drop.

None of the passengers were believed to be wearing seat belts and the limo itself was in poor condition.

I could see 4 or 5 deaths, but everyone onboard dead? It just struck me as unusual. I was wondering if anyone from a rescue background or in LE has any insight in why the death toll was so high.
