The glass jar protects the flame and if properly placed is very safe to burn! I generally place them into a larger jar if I can, specially if the window has a good breeze coming throughout! Yes there is a Darwin option available if you’re not paying attention!

Set in front of a mirror makes it even better and I’ve done that during a storm in Maui that knocked the power out about 20 minutes after I arrived in Hana at the rental house that was pitch black against the jungle!
