Syria what is really going on and why

Ryan's analysis in the video below mixes oil and gas interests so it is kind of vague. His explanation of the BTC monopoly is dead on though. Ryan has a history degree and is actually about 40 years old despite his youthful voice and appearance.

The proposed Iran/Syria NATGAS line is not a threat to the BTC/AE monopoly since the BTC is a crude oil line. The Trans-Afghan line would have competed with the BTC but the US invasion has insured that it will not be built any time soon. Ryan touches on Libya and Afghanistan.

The obvious question is why don't the oil tankers use the Suez canal to avoid paying transit fees to Israel's AE pipeline. There are two answers. One is that if they used the canal then israel wouldn't get the transit fees. Gaddafi used the canal and denied israel a profit from Libya's oil sales. That is why he was murdered. The other reason is capacity. Israel's AE line can carry a lot more oil than ships going through the Suez Canal.

The proposed Iran/Syria NATGAS line is a threat to the proposed Qatar/Turkey line. Refer again to the MINTPRESS article. Israel's specific interest in this isn't clear to me but they do give air support toi ISIS when Assad's forces get the upper hand. Merhav, a pipeline construction firm, is located in israel. They may have the contract for the Qatar line.

“Competing Gas Pipelines
“Assad refused to sign a proposed agreement with Qatar and Turkey that would run a pipeline from the latter’s North field, contiguous with Iran’s South Pars field, through Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria and on to Turkey, with a view to supply European markets – albeit crucially bypassing Russia. Assad’s rationale was ‘to protect the interests of [his] Russian ally, which is Europe’s top supplier of natural gas.’”
Yes it would be possible to bypass Syria with a line to the Iraq/Turkey border but that wouldn't stop Iran from building it's line.
