Taurus PT92 and M9 mags

I traded into something that I've shot, but never actually owned before.
A PT92 (guy just gave me too much credit for my trade, so I had to)

Now I knew you could modify M9 mags to fit it, and i'd read both that they had to be converted, and that they didn't, and wanted to find out.
(Learning about guns is a major reason I pick up some I do.)

It came with a visibly modified M9 mag, so that answered that.

I took the M9 mag from my Beretta, it fits but doesn't lock.
The modified Beretta mag from the Taurus obviously fits, and locks in, but due to the cut does not lock the slide back unless you push up against the bottom.

I'm posting this to make sure I dig out some 9mm ammo (use .40's these days and what 9mm is out is HP) and play with the various configurations.
I'm curious if the way the cuts on the modified mag make it sit lower will cause interference with function when used in the beretta.
(Haven't seen it posted in this depth before.)
-it's not much, so it may not matter.

Other experiences asked for and welcome so there's more of a data pool than one.
(They will determine whether I keep it or trade it off, don't want mags that look so close, but won't work in both. Bad enough with 9mm\40 mags.)

Let's block ads! (Why?)
