For me the free market was being able to go to a department store and not have it all be the same clothes for punk kids in LA or expensive womenware most don't afford. Seriously women who can afford that **** would NOT degrade themselves going to the 'mall' they'd go to places up their ladder we can't even go to. Yet since the Obama era stores have gone to the same punk clothes and we stopped shopping at the malls as we tried to avoid Amazon for the longest time. We didn't join till 2013. God has it been THAT long?
The free market was about stores competing with each other and giving unique services to attract that loyal base without chewing each other out. Now it's all owned by the same factory that seems to do the same stuff.
Wow this is like the Borg! You will surrender to us and service us! Resistance is futile! https://youtu.be/ql83z8yBx2M
The America I grew up in is LONG gone and I feel I'm in an alien world having to learn a new culture like when you go to Europe and you accidentally plug in the wrong voltage. I feel humanity is in the wrong voltage slot now.
How do we unplug or convert to the correct voltage and make things work again for humanity and bring that awe and wonder back? We're a few volts too short sadly to get the free market machine running at the right speed so we now have weird results spitting out.
(I hope we don't by accident destroy the capital machine all together in this election and blow a fuse with it turning the lights off).
Hey! Anyone have a spare fuse for the US?
PS: It feels the Tariffs are doing more harm then good as more stores shut down (well before Covid) and lead to the retail crisis that should've happened under Obama. I wonder if Trump is purposely killing off the non global companies as he's a globalist at heart? Or is there a deeper picture then they are letting on? Perhaps's he's not even aware of the hurt and struggle of the retail scene? Even the online giants like Amazon 'the retail store killer' as they are scapegoated are suffering as they have a lot less then they used to in many areas and a broken search engine.etc acting like Google's broken engine.
I thought the Tariffs were suppose to bring jobs back to the US. Here in Oregon more are going out then in. That's something you see in a depression not a boom! The Bush era was a BOOM!!! I can't say it loud enough. I wonder if the Bush era problem was TMI? (Too Much Information?) overloading the US?
