EVERYONE has a favorite or two, sayings that seem to express their opinion on a topic or simply to life in general. They are simple, like one or two sentences and maybe have a lesson, maybe not but they have ingrained themselves into our psyche for whatever reason.
Here are some of mine:
Don't fear the night, fear what hunts in the night.
Life is a walk through the forest, don't fear the trees, fear what lurks behind them.
This one I got early in life and I do believe it kept me alive in a number of circumstances;
On the plains of hesitation, lie the blackened bones of countless millions, who, on the eve of victory sat down to rest, and resting died.
A buddy of mine who was committed to being a lifer had a saying for all the **** circumstances "Look at it as just another day towards 20." He didn't make it.
When the wife or kids got all frazzled about something I would say..
"ask yourself, in a million years will it make a difference, if not don't sweat it."
They didn't like me much at times..
