Russian GRU putting bounty on US military in Afghanistan?

Saw this report that US intelligence learned that Russian GRU (their version of CIA) offered a bounty to Afghan Taliban soldiers on any dead Americans.

Supposedly US intelligence learned about it back in the spring and briefed the Whitehouse....at least according to the story by NY times.

WH press secretary released a statement on it. She didn't deny the intelligence on the alleged bounty but just that Trump or Pence were briefed on it.
