Good grief, another hurricane, Cat 2 Delta predicted to threaten Gulf coast Thurs

WHEN YOU see those threads about where are the best places to live, and the folks from the south decry the cold and snow and why would anyone live in the north?

Why would anyone live where on a regular basis the weather threatens not only everything you own (tornadoes, floods torrential rains) but also threaten your very life and livelihood? (above, plus hurricanes.)

As a long time friend of mine used to explain his choice of southern living, "It is like being married to a questionable woman, you know the odds are good eventually she is going to take you for everything you've got. BUT, up until then, it may be a great ride."

Where I live, we may have an F1 or F2 tornado come through every 4-5 years... maybe. NO floods, true we have blizzards, but they seldom blow a house off the foundations and wipe out whole sections of towns.

While I feel for you folks, it is hard to feel sorry for you. It is like the guy who goes to the $10 whore and finds out he has an STD later. It is not like he didn't know it could happen.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
