cctv recorder security querie

ok, as many of you know I have been playing with the idea of setting up a home based cctv system. which I have recently been investigating.





I have now another dumb question.



once its all brought and set up, what stops the thief nicking the recorder with the rest of the stuff??



thinking about it, I would have to hid it,

somewhere out of the way, say the loft,



due to the temp changes in the loft I guess it would have to be in a container of some sort to keep it warm and dry. that then leads to the question of in the summer how do I keep it cool?



if I am going to go down the route of containment and cooling/heating of some sort, what's the difference in going further and securing it inside a fire proof container/safety security box set up.



its easy to make the cooling fire proof and to add fire collars to the set up

but is it worth it.



I am not comfortable with having it connected tot he cloud or internet due to not having any cable connections to the internet in the house



where does every one else keep there cctv records and how do you keep that information safe from theft??
