Last time I posted about a day on the farm it was a really bad day. This time, though, it's about a really good day. Woke up this morning and was greeted by a brand new lamb; our first actually born on the property. Then tonight, we put up our first 10 lbs of farm raised chicken in to the freezer. The act of butchering the chickens wasn't as bad as my mind hyped it out to be*. It was definitly messier and smellier than youtube vids portray it.
You know, for evry bad day on your own land, there are many more good ones. Thanks for listening to my musings.
* Note, I've feild dressesed and butchered large and small game, as well as domesticated animals, so no smart alek comments about me almost psyching myself out over a couple of chickens. Man, they are as smelly on the inwide as they wre on the outside.
Let's block ads! (Why?)
A good day on the farm...
