I remember driving across the border going to the Seattle recruiting depot There were 7 of us and we wanted to join Uncle Sams Army. We talked to the army recruiter because he was a Ranger . They took over 80,000 Canadians during the Vietnam war but it was over when we went down and they weren't interested in having us. I always regret not trying the Marine recruiter because he sure seemed to have more interest in our group as we left than the Army guy. Oh well I got to serve with several US Army and Marine units when I was in the Canadian army. They were good soldiers. I'm just an old guy thinking back on what could have been.
