I've been picking up occasional 50 lb bags of wheat (and a few corns) and just about have filled a 100 gallon city trash can. There is a place I pass by that sells dry ice. My thought is to put some in there and tape up the lid. CO2, being heavier than oxygen, should drive it out. Seems like that should kill the weevils anyway. I might toss in a chunk every six months or so, too.
Question, how much dry ice do I need to fill the can and 2. Is there a way to test if the CO2 is still filling the can? Or put another way, test if a significant level of oxygen has creeped back into the can?
