Making course soap

So in my trade we like to get dirty ;-)

I have had the idea for a while that I should try and make some soap with gritty rock salt flakes in it on one side and oat meal on the other. There’s nothing worse than the bar turning to mush in the shower so a hard type of soap preferably and a rope so you don’t drop the bar ;-)

The problem is I know nothing about soap making hahaha so what better place to ask then the DIY forum?

Has anyone experimented with soaps for getting engine oil off?
