Preparedness And Planning A Downfall In Suburban Millennials.

It is not news-breaking that today's young adults are living with their parents longer than any other generation in US History. There are many different aspects that contribute to this phenomenon like social media, economic fears, consumer expectations skewed by easy lending, and many more.

But the number one factor I have seen in Millennials and their supporting parents is over-planning, and wanting to be overly-prepared before taking the next step in life. I have watched several neighbors and friends over the years drill this into their kids who later became adults. First it is to complete college. Then it is getting a "good" job. Then it is "saving up enough to move out". Then it becomes saving up "enough" to buy a ""starter home". Or saving up "enough" to get married.

Not trying to put down Millennials or their Parents here just sharing an observation about how over-planning or preparing for life can lead to stagnation and even missed opportunities.

Do you have any friends or neighbors with adults living at home?
