"He had been dead for some time."

This is one specific question about the investigation into the Las Vegas shooter -- please limit your responses to THIS ONE QUESTION.

Today, on the Fox News show "The Daily Briefing" with Dana Perino, reporter Adam Housley said, "When they finally blew that door open, he (the shooter) had been dead for some time." (At about 2:20 in the video below.)

I had not heard that before.

There is SOOoooo much information swirling around about this incident, I'm having trouble finding another source for this one bit of information.

Of course, "dead for some time" is very subjective -- it could mean anything from 10 minutes to several hours.

Has anyone heard how long he had been dead? (Link to a source would be nice.)
