Help me with Radiation Detector

I live in lower Michigan and there are nuclear power plants located about 150 miles west (up wind) of me. I'm looking for advice on which radiation detector would be best suited to alert me if one of these plants melted down in an SHTF event.

Assuming the power grid of the USA wen't off line for an extended period of time and communications were blacked out, I'm looking for something that would allow me to periodically determine if we were being subjected to nuclear fall out contamination from a melt down of one of the these plants.

Is there something in the Sub $200 range I can purchase?
