I'm researching LP wall furnace/heaters direct vent survival after an emp. The smaller ones like Cozy or Williams topping at 33,000Btu (Input) have copper wiring from pilot generator to the thermastat that shuts off the turns on the gas. It's sealed in a rubber grafit fiberglass material so the air combusttion is from outside air. Anyway, looks like Williams has saftey shut off copper parts, but Cozy doesn't. Does anyone know if I got 28 gauge aluminum wiring to take the place of the copper one to the thermastat, if this would be emp safe?
