Cash is a prep

Every year or so I like to put up a reminder that cash, insurance, money in the bank, and retirement savings are ALL preps!

The recent Gov shutdown "triggered" it this year.

Even though (as I predicted) it appears that pensions and paychecks will come in, I still sent out "reminders" to severally medically retired buddies that our pensions might be delayed.

Another couple buddies are "not working" (although one was at work today (paid) to be told how his "not working" was going to go (government.... figures) who work for the Fed Gov in various positions.

...you never know how something: from ice storms and hirricanes to Gov shutdowns might impact your paycheck.

Too many Americans live too close to the edge where a couple days pay might break them.
But even if it's not you you should still keep in mind/ready and able to continue your current lifestyle for some time without that income stream.
