Megamillion/Powerball artificially inflated?

With the Powerball and Megamillion lotteries up to more than 2 Billion USD combined and how many winners of the non-jackpot prizes totaling more than $10,000, I am thinking the drawings were artificially inflated by certain groups to get people to focus on the lotteries instead of the November midterms.

People win a lot of money and suddenly their worries go away for a bit and they relax. They aren't concerned with who is in charge at the moment because they just won $1,000, $10,000 or even $1,000,000.

Sort of like what Gaddafi did but less direct so no side could be directly accused.

I'm still trying to determine if this is just my imagination or an actual thing but it seems very suspicious that the biggest Megamillion drawing in history right before the November midterms.
