Russian bomber breaks apart on landing

Tail strike would rotate the airframe down onto the mains pretty hard. The forward fuselage is a cantilever beam, and it snaps from the sudden overload.

Maybe also hot, but we don't have anything for a baseline to judge.

Was it a short runway? He might have been putting it down as early as he could to avoid over-running the end, given all that snow. God knows I endured quite a few "carrier landings" when US Scare was flying 727s out of Green airport in Providence, RI. If you over-ran runway 04 you went through a Burger King 200 yards across the perimeter road.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
