Air drying sourdough yeast starter for longer term storage:

I spread about a pint of active starter about the thickness of a penny or less on sheets of parchment paper placed in a draft free very clean sanitized place to air dry at slightly high room temperatures.

Object is to see (once bone dry) how well it will separate from the parchment paper.
If it doesn't separate well, next test I will do the same on a large sheet of plate glass.

Air dried rock hard, pulverized & stored in a air tight container in a dry clean cool place.
You don't have to feed it & it's simple/easy to restart.
