Freezing eggs

Now, I tend to keep a few in the freezer. Typically egg whites and yokes separate for creme brule or whatever strikes my fancy (long way to town)

But back in Feb I froze some just for general use and it worked well.
(I prefer scrambled, you sunny side up people are out of luck)

I am currently scrambling ~100 eggs.
3 go into one of those "snack sized" zip lock bags (it'll hold up to 4 large eggs) and I have a row of them in one of my hangingbaskets. (3 eggs and 3 strips of bacon is about perfect for a breakfast burrito.)
Some are different for other uses, but this is my norm. (If I'm just scrambling eggs 6 is fine.)

I have mayo to use as an egg substation for baking, but this way I don't need to break into the (more expensive) canned eggs. Taste better too.

This is yet another refinement I believe I will continue to do. (Again: was already doing it, but I'll keep more on hand.)

I should of stocked up on more in feb. Rectified that oversite.

Last few years I've been getting yard eggs which last longer.
Turns out all my buddies with chickens lost them this winter. (Figures)

Let's block ads! (Why?)
