push mower safety bar defeat?

This is just for fun,ya'll are creative and have great ideas.
Bought a new push mower a few months ago that has that bar you have to hold against the handle.
I tried a clamp from some old jumper cables,but it was in the way and kept getting knocked off.
Tried some tie wire for rebar,worked,but had to wrap it 3-4 times,and worked loose.
Cut a 6 inch strip of duct tape,worked great,but have to cut it off,leaves a gummy residue.

Thinking about velcro,the type that you peel and has tape on one side,not sure how that would work.

It ain't rocket science,I'll stick with the tape for now.

Any quick,cheap,easy ideas to play with?
