They will come after your church

I posted this on the other forum but since this thread is about the same issue I will post it here also.

Most people assume that since Jesus was born and lived in the Middle East (Israel) He would have had brown skin. This is not necessarily true. If we look at the Bible we can see several instances where skin color and/or complexion is mentioned.

Esau, the son of Isaac and brother of Jacob was red haired or ruddy.

Quote:

Gen 25:25* And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
*As Esau grew to be a man his hair and skin color could have changed.

David, King of Israel and father of Solomon had red hair and was ruddy.

Quote:

1Sa 16:12* And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.
David was a teenager at this time so his hair color and complexion was not going to change much.

Mary, the mother of Jesus was a direct descendant of David as was Jesus. Since half of the chromosomes for Jesus came from God the Holy Spirit, what color do you supposed that produced. Do you reckon they were the dominant Genes?

The favorite wife of Solomon was black.

Quote:

Son 1:5* I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
*She attributes this to being burned by the sun.

Quote:

Son 1:6* Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: …
Laban, Rebecca's brother and father of Rachel and Leah, the two wives of Jacob; his name is thought to mean whitish.

Miriam, the sister of Moses, when she criticized Moses for marrying a Cu****e or Ethiopian woman, Zipporah, was stricken by leprosy from the LORD. Tradition is that Zipporah being an Ishmalite would have had black skin and Miriam, with lighter skin was against her for this. So God punished her by giving her leprosy, making her skin ultra white.

Jeremiah, when lamenting about the destruction of Jerusalem in Lamentations says that some Nazarites had skin whiter than milk and some were ruddy or red skinned and haired.

Quote:

Lam 4:7* Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:*
Egyptian depictions of peoples from the area of Ancient Israel sometimes show people with very light skin and at other times as darkish. They are depicted on Egyptian monuments as red, blonde, or black-haired with frequent blue eyes and red beards. Illustrations of individuals with this appearance are automatically assumed by Egyptologists to pertain to the Israelite or "Syrian" area.

The bottom line of all this is that no one knows what skin color Jesus had. He was a Jew but Scripture doesn't give any indication of skin color for His mortal body. Scripture does say he was not so good looking.

Quote:

Isa 53:2* For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.*
It is really useless to speculate on skin color. Jesus Christ is the Savior of all mankind regardless of any persons color. Desecrating pictures of Jesus because they depict Him as white or black or any color is just more over the top actions by the anarchists and progressive left, the media and elites.

Saun King is just being his progressive left agitator. He doesn't know anything about Jesus but he will someday.
