A good read I found this morning about a motel in Kissimmee, Florida - The owner abandoned the property and its since been taken over and managed by the residents with Mixed but mostly terrible results.

Apparently the regional economy is tied to Disney World. So due to the pandemic many businesses and attractions have been unable to sustain themselves. The motels and tourist destinations are a prime example of a bust economy in the pandemic.

This represents a good example of what a Modern economic collapse would look like - the motel is basically a modern “Hooverville” - these people are living in their own SHTF scenario whether they realize it or not.

I would hope in this instance, and unlike the government in the depression, we would be able to let the market forces and less government intervention correct the situation. I doubt it.
