It is always interesting to talk with firearm trainers and those who really obsess over certain trainers. There is a nice little gun amd survival shop in the next town over from me. The owner when you look at him is the epitome of disillusioned from real life. He showed me his EDC and I am not exaggerating:
Glock 19
3 extra 17 rd mags
Each front pocket had an Emerson knife
A 4 inch serrated ka bar tdi knife
Surefire flashlight
Pepper spray
Tazer
Leather an wave
I asked him if was law enforcement, and he said no EMT. I asked him how he carried this doing that he said he didn't. And that is my point! Only when at the gun store(his), or at his classes does he wear all this gear.

Fenix pd22 flashlight
Victorinox cadet
Not saying mine is better, replace the items with whatever you like, but anymore than a gun, knife, flashlight, a reload (depending on capacity maybe two) and your living in the realm of "The Walking Dead."
The only time I am w/o(gun only)is m-f, 8-4:30, when at work. It stays in the car. I get in, take it out of hiding and put in my bag next to me. I get out of car it goes in the pocket. We have to look at gun instructors with filtered lenses.
Anyway this more about the detachment of most gun instructors from the students and the everyday life of people.
