Here are my thoughts on how Isis will fade away. Isis has too many enemies on too many fronts. Most of their enemies (such as Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Europe, USA, Russia, etc) have yet to have taken deliberate action against them.
Isis has no airpower and won't gain any aircraft of any numbers to make a difference. Same with having no Navy. They can be bombed into oblivion and they know it.
If Isis conducts a terrorist attack in the UK, then the Brits will respond militarily. That attack would probably start a NATO coalition. If Isis conducts a terrorist attack in the USA, then the public outrage would force Obama to respond heavily. If Isis were foolish enough to attack in Russia then bets are good that Putin would hit back hard.
Isis will lose. It just depends which big player they p*** off first.
