Must be logged in to read stories that involve the President?

I keep and have kept a lot of story threads in my "favorites" or "bookmarked", platform dependent. I can go right to the page I saved and continue the story. Wonderful concept.
HOWEVER, anytime it is a story that has our specific current President involved in it, even if the name is mildly rewritten, the forum makes me have to log in to access the story when I try to go straight to it as one of my favorites.
It is enough to make me paranoid about it as if I wasn't already
So, Moderators, what's the BFD about it? Do you do this on purpose? Or is it tasked upon you by other sources? Or an NSA plot to better track those of us interested in a story that may show the great Imam of the US in a negative light?
