Never ending racoon trapping around the coop

Hey guys. It's my first time raising chickens for eggs and I have a coon problem! I have six layers in a new aluminum shed 8x4 with a 5x10 attached six foot fenced in section. I haven't had anything try to dig into the coop or scratch into it, but I set a trap just in case.

For the past three weeks I've gotten a coon or possum every single night. I've even trapped two baby cooks in the same trap...twice! Does it ever end? Am I making a difference in the population at all?

I live about two miles outside of the city. Field behind me, neighbors on both sides but no one across the road. There's woods about a half mile behind my house and some wooded areas surrounding, but nothing huge.

Should I just keep trapping? Is my bait attracting more coons than I would normally have?

Let's block ads! (Why?)
