Pasta and Oil/fats storage

I saw an earlier post on Mac and cheese where the mac was good after 5 years but the cheese mix has gone bad. So it looks like the mac is good for several years. So here are a few questions:

1) is there one type of pasta that stores better or lasts longer than another, such as whole wheat or non-glut? or does regular old spaghetti store as good as anything else? Expected life? Storage method?

2) I have seen some info on storage of oils and it looks like Olive Oil is good for about 2 years or so? Is this correct or does it store for longer than that? What would be the longest lasting oil or shortening to store and what would be the expected storage life? Storage method?

Thanks
