What coins should I save?

Personally, I'd pass on the copper cents, as their metal value is only about 1.5 X face. There is currently a melt ban on copper cents but can still be resold.

1964 and earlier dimes, quarters and half dollars are 90% silver, and currently valued at about 14.5 X face. There is of present no melt ban on US 90% silver coin.
