BATFE declares smokeless powder in bullets high explosive
The civil unrest in Ferguson, MO has been "supported" and managed the same way.
Perhaps your home AO isn't impacted, but Dems will pander to these groups after the election and provide funding...it's their political base.
I'm in Asylum Chicago, so there will be an impact here. They have a playbook. Their actions are not random.
The purpose of the generator is strictly for emergency purposes. We live on the Gulf Coast and with the last hurricane, even though we just had wind, we were without power for a week. I am on a budget so I'd really like to keep it under $700 total (shipping, tax, cables, etc).
I've found out the watts required for the things we want to keep powered which is the fridge, freezer, a window a/c, tv, dvd player, stereo and 3 lamps. It would be 2577 running watts.
The generator at the top of my list currently is a Wen 3750/4750 that is $430 total. It has electric start, two 20A 5-20R outlets, a 30A rv TT-30R outlet, and a 30A L5-30 outlet.
If I need larger Im looking at the Smarter Tools 5500/6500 for $610 total. It has four 120V 20A outlets, a 120/240V 30A AC L14-30R, a 120V 30A AC L5-30R and one 12-Volt 8A DC outlet. It however doesn't have an electric start.
Question #1 - Surge Watts - I'm not quite understanding the surge watts. I know that they can vary according to the appliance. I've read that most people either just double the running watts and use that, and others say to just double the highest running watt. After looking at how generators are setup 3500/4000 etc, Im guessing the last is the better way to go? If not I can't figure out why gens are not more like 3500/7000. I tried to calculate my surge watts best I can on each individual appliance and come up with about 5020 watts.
Question #2 - Overload - My running watts total is 2600, that would mean a 3750/4750 would be running at 70%. Is that too high if it's just used for emergencies? It would be running non-stop for maybe a week at most. (hopefully)
Question #3 - Cords/Adapters - I am hoping that I am able to plug most of my items into the 5-20 outlets using two of the cords that have the triple tap ends and then
running extension cords from that to each appliance. I also hope to use a 30-to-15 adapter I saw at Lowes to hook either the fridge or the a/c to the L5-30. Do you see any problems with this? The only 10g cord I found at Lowes is $90. Is this the one I would need for the L5-30 or could I get a smaller cord since I would be using the 30-to-15 adapter?
Question #4 - Amps - I was just about to choose a generator when I came across a site that said to also check my amps. So I did that, mostly from estimates provided on other sites. I total about 24 amps (fridge 9, freezer 5, ac 6, tv/dvd 1, lamps 1.5, stereo .5). Does those sound about right?. The site went on to say that even though an outlet on the generator may be a 20 amp outlet and that even though there maybe 2 or 4 outlets that if the circuit inside the generator is only 25 amps that is the most I will get total from the generator. So I couldn't plug 20 worth of amps into EACH outlet because they are going to share whatever's inside the generator? I have to say this is what has confused me the most.
Question #5 - 3750 or 5500 - So do you thing the 3750 would be good or would I need bigger?
Thank you for ANY help in ANY this!
On the Hannity show yesterday it was a topic of discussion between Hannity, a GOP bobo and a DNC bobo. An actual civilized discussion. The overall thought was that Clinton does not currently have enough votes to win the Whitehouse (something like 41% of those polling would vote for her at the present time), so she will encourage conservatives not thrilled with Trump to vote for Johnson. Not come out and directly say so, but continue the negative ad onslaught and that the Clinton camp maybe would even advocate for Johnson to be included in the debates. I bet that internal polling shows the Clinton camp that they are presently losing the election and need to do something.

"The Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, and Explosives are warning outdoorsmen in Harlan County, Kentucky to beware of trail cams and hunting equipment that may contain IEDs.
Explosive trail cameras have been found abandoned on paths and other places throughout the Dave Smith Drainage Area near the Woodland Hills Subdivision.
They have been rigged to detonate when batteries were inserted into them. Other IEDs discovered were set to explode via a trip wire.
To date three people have been injured from the devices exploding in their hands.
The first of these explosive trail cams were discovered in May after injuring a man who had stumbled upon one.
An investigation led them to Mark Sawaf (pictured below) in June after police found materials used to make explosives in his trash."
Anyone else nervous about Jeh Johnson of DHS looking at taking over elections? Just read the story linked by DR on washington examiner, I don't like the sound of any of it. He says that having 9000 state / local jurisdictions is a big issue as far as securing national elections but doesn't that make it impossible for outside forces to hack or influence results! Everything he says is either flawed thinking or devious.
However, I could purchase 5 years of service that would cost me $110,000. If I did that my draw would be $53,000 per year. So my question; is this a no-brainer to go ahead and purchase this extra 5 years? Or would I be better off putting the $110,000 in something like a Vanguard fund?

NRA has helped the club with a grant, club holds NRA sanctioned matches. I've done NRA qualifications, both rifle and pistol using the club ranges.
NRA is big enough, with member support, to get politicians attention. Don't know of any other gun advocacy organizations that can do that. Not saying there isn't any, just I don't know of any.
Obama, Clinton and the other Democratic power brokers have succeeded in fundamentally transforming the Democratic Party into a criminal enterprise that is now represented by socialists, communists, radicals, and brain dead gruberite voters. Their “base” is largely composed of people who vote for a living paid by tax payers and government influence… welfare recipients, unions, government workers, government contractors, Clinton-like big donors, the media, Hollywood elites, etc. A small number of retired Democrats still cling to the now defunct Democratic Party that used to be the party of the working man and women. They are steadily being replaced by Bernie’s cupcakes and snowflakes looking for social justice, safe spaces to pontificate liberal BS and free stuff. The trajectory is socialism.
While Democrats were busy morphing into corruption and dysfunction, the Republican party has also managed to transform themselves into two separate components… roughly 60% (Trump supporters who are working and supporting themselves) who still believe and strive for small government, balanced budgets, personal responsibility, lower taxes and fewer regulations, maximum personal freedom and honesty and integrity in government, and a strong but not nation-building military, and secure borders. And the other 40% (RINOs, never Trumps, welfare recipients who were born into the Republican Party and the big money Clinton-like opportunists) who say they are for traditional Republican values, but like the Democratic Party, utilize government directly and indirectly for their own personal gain.
Democrats are now fully invested in crime, corruption, pay-to-play and “what’s in it for me” while Republicans, who don’t support Trump, are migrating steadily in that direction. Trump is a flawed candidate for sure with good intentions. I am not sure where he is going or how he will get there. However, I am 100% sure where the others are going and it is NOT good for freedom, prosperity, and the American Dream.
I envision three parties emerging after this election… Socialist (with elements of old Republican Party), Republican composed of Trump supporters, and a hybrid composed of Bernie followers and Never Trump people.
What do you see as the future of political parties in America?
Hi there i would like to know I any of you could help me. At my buddies ranch they have a cattle operation and on the way to his ranch the other day he saw 30 oryx!! Only about 10 miles away from his ranch with these animals they travel all over his dad has seen only one but I'm sure they're bound to come to his ranch they've walked over 60 miles to get there. My idea was to create a salt lick since its the middle of the desert a couple watering stations and get a deer feeder out there. The only problem is the cows so I was thinking create a salt lick for them to help out my buddy and build a fence around the "oryx station" do you know if the oryx will jump a 3 1/2 ft fence to get to the feed, water and salt?
its the closest thing this countries can do to apologise for the mess merckle created and the threats all over europe by terrorist that they can no longer control--so prepare instead. when hillary clinton becomes president she has already said she will take in 1 million muslims into america in her first year alone--it will be the same here.
I don't have the Bible memorized,or know much about other religons.
I'm sure there are passages about converting people or spreading the word.
I think I've had a few Mormons also.
So question 1 is..what is written that compells them to go door to door.
question 2 is..why don't other religons do it..never had a Jew,or muslim,or Catholic knock on my door.
(This isn't a rant,or complaint..just curious)
I'd say go to FEMA and check the maps on the threats in your area. If there's flooding, make sure you live above the highest water mark in your area. It there are tornados, consider options for protection, etc.,
Ironically, I chose an area that's pretty darn good...but a neighborhood near mind deteriorated and my threat became human beings.
My wife and I just bought a house in a rural location (closing is tomorrow). We rented prior to this. We had to break our lease on the rental, which is fine. Whatever. Our contract on the rental house states that if we break the lease, we lose our deposit, owe a re-listing fee and we are responsible for paying rent every month until they find a new renter. Understood.
We've been told a new renter is signing a lease tomorrow and will be receiving keys to the house on September 30th, which means we are responsible to pay a prorated rent through September 29th. So far so good, I guess.
Here's the problem: They want us to turn in the keys and be out of the house on August 31st (two days), despite the fact that they're requiring us to pay rent through September 29th. Is that acceptable to be expected to pay rent for days that we will not have access to the property? We could sure use a couple of extra days to move our stuff out of the house if we could get some extra days.
Are there any realty experts on here who can clarify this for me? I'm ready to call the rental agency tomorrow and tell them that we will not be turning in the keys until the last day that we are paying rent for.
What say the experts on SB?

Trump announced that if he becomes POTUS he will make Gowdy the attorney general! For those of you who don't know, I'm not a big Trump fan. But I do want Hellary beat. And now with the Gowdy pick that's at the very least 2 solid reasons for voting Trump.

I intend to post some of my experiences here dealing with the current "Generation Snowflake" along with any crazy discussions held during class.
With that being said, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to talk to kids fresh out of high school who think they know everything without sounding like a crazy old man to them?
