stupid question-but-push or pull cart

Kinda a transportation question.

Had 30 bales of pine needles delivered,have a "yard cart" and had to move them about 300 yards.

My mind kinda wanders when I'm out working alone.I started switching each trip pulling the cart,then pushing it.

It felt easier,more comfortable to pull it-both ergonomics and easier to go over ruts and rocks,etc..

I think it takes the same amount of energy,pushing or pulling,so I'm daydreaming if I ever had to bug out on a level paved road using this cart...it would make no difference?
