Let's build an air filter

So all this talk about fallout, I have thought about building an air filter box for some time now. One that can fit in my basement window with an intake turned down so fallout cant get straight in. It would be under a roof also.

Building a box airtight I can do. Size it to fit any size filters also. I figure many filters! Hepa and standard pleated in layers might do the trick.

PVC intake cause you got a ton of things on the market to use for fittings and easy to work with.

Moving the air in and out is where I get lost. I have seen hand pumps but not any on the market now. Maybe build one? Not sure how.
Exhaust I think maybe a small DC powered fan blowing thru another box fitted with filters ducted outside in the same manner as the first.

So if anyone has tried this or has ideas please share. And yes I have made the space as airtight as I can. Its not perfect but better than it was.
