Farm Attacks / Urban Armed Robbery Equipment

I'll kick off this thread.

First up a camera still from an alleged Farm Attack in 2015, no further details are known of the exact location. This image has caused some controversy due to the equipment used by the alleged attackers and the fact that little else is known of the incident.

The image shows three men, two in balaclavas, also wearing gloves.
Two pistols are visible.

The interesting bit of equipment is the backpack, which some believe is a high power cell phone jammer, used to negate the victims cell phone communications during an attack, with obvious loss of a link to the outside world.

This is apparently an unusual set up and not often encountered.

Observations:

Although cell phones tend to be the average person's first emergency communication equipment, jammers are out there which will render them useless.

Always have more than one communication line available.

Landlines can be better protected by encasing any part of it running outside of your house in protective material. Radios connected to a farm watch net will be beneficial. Silent armed response alarms dispersed throughout the house might signal for help if other communication lines are jammed or cut off.

Attackers come in groups and will probably outnumber you, training other members of the family with the firearms at your disposal might help to fight off a large group or continue the fight if you are down.

Well prepared groups are out there and will use the element of surprise to overwhelm you. If possible always carry firearms on you instead of leaving it in the safe.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
