What about this greenhouse

No offence, but what are your goals for having a green house? Raising plants for a homestead? Starting plants when its cold? Truck patch gardening? Selling plants, hydroponic vegetables?
Your goals have a lot to say about size. Then size dictates heat, cooling, furniture.
Just about anything will work for a homestead garden. My plastic was good for three years before it started decaying. If you want to start plants from seeds or repot seedlings, I recommend one big enough for heat, and then cooling. Also, working space. Wood stove or gas furnace. Mine is only about 54" square, really needs to be bigger, but plans are to enlarge it this coming spring. I start my plants in the house, move to greenhouse once night temperatures are above freezing. Or use a brooder lamp, kerosene or infrared bulb. I have an exhaust fan on a thermostat for cooling.

I built a 16' x 32' years ago with double plastic. Those type of greenhouses, air is blown between the layers of plastic for insulation. It was nice. Built trusses from ground to ground. Framed each end up with door and exhaust for excess heat.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
