And they said, “Some say that you are John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets, and some say you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
And these modern, liberal theologians, Barth, Bonhoeffer, Brunner, Bultmann and Tillich, answered and said,
“Thou art the Ground of Being.
Thou art the Leap of Faith into the Impenetrable Unknown.
Thou art the Existential, Unverbalized, Unpropositional Confrontation with Infinitude, of Inherent Subjective Experience.”
And Jesus looked at them and said, “Huh?”
