Given that in an extended SHTF situation reliable supplies of gasoline may become anywhere from very difficult to find, extremely expensive and/or simply nonexistent.
Since we have ample off-grid electrical generator power, proven to be reliable in the decade since we built/installed the system.
Even though we have a topped up large capacity gravity flow gasoline storage tank at our BOL, there is a possibility gasoline supplies eventually may become non-existent for at least some extended period of time.
Given that possibility, since we have reliable means to charge a hybrids batteries. I'm thinking of purchasing a new or fairly new plain Jane all wheel drive hybrid to keep BOL.
Researching all wheel drive hybrids, it appears a 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid fits the ticket.
Even though I don't particularly care for Japanese vehicles.
Or, is there a comparable or better American made choice?
Facts, data & opinions welcome.
