I bought a down jacket from Sams or Costco a couple years ago. (Made by Hawke). It worked great. I recently bought a Gerry from Costco for my son. He preferred my Hawke so I gave it to him and kept the Gerry. The Gerry looks great and is great for 40 degrees but isn't warm enough for colder temps. The seams between the baffles are too large - that is my theory. The seams are about 1/4 inch! My Hawke was warmer even though they are both 650 fill power. I am looking at picking up a warmer down jacket. Maybe something even better than the Hawke. I am cheap so I don't want to spend a ton. These two jackets cost me $24 and $29. I will consider spending up to $100. What do you recommend? (I am totally sold on down jackets - not the most durable - such as for hard labor, but great for wearing around town or hiking)
