Kel Tec Sub 2K Gen II, go/no go?

locally i found a Kel Tec Sub 2K Gen 2 with S&W pistol mags option in pretty good condition, in fact its very good. They want $299 for it used. I can try to talk them down to $275 or $280 maybe? Im thinking that i might need a smaller semi-auto centerfire carbine thats light and easy to carry just in case.

Here's my situation:

one 10-22 folding stock
two .22 pistols
Ruger Charger with pistol scope
one .223 bolt gun
one mossberg pump with 2 barrels (full & 18") plus 3 buttstock options
one old 9mm pistol
one old .308 bolt gun that needs work and some other miscillanious .22 long guns

if i have a pistol grip shotgun, do i need a pistol carbine or would the shotgun fulfill that short range need? would my folding stock 10-22 with 25 rnd mags be enough (doubtful, but worth asking)? is this a good price for this gun? are they reliable/low maintenance enough without parts wearing out too early? i see Promag makes 32 rnd extended mags for the S&W, M&P's, thats pretty exciting!

just want to get a sense of what a possible consensus would be here. thanks for your thoughts & opinions!
