mobile antenna bas ideas

thinking of playing in the shed over the winter time with a new mobile mast set up. i want to use as much FREE STUFF and junk from the shed as possible and only really want to to invest time into it.

so first up what do i need?
I need an antenna mast base, the one i use now is a steel plate a foot square and one eight thick and its creased in the middle from the mast weight. the mast is a guided steel tube 4 " square with a 2" pole that whinches out of it with a yagi uda on the top, it started at 2m but has recent started to grown and is able to do 10-11 and 12m yagi uda and thats where the weight and the general wind and weight forces have come into play.

The mast rotator is also failing to work properley, with a new 36" stilson having been added recently to the strong arm device due to age related wear and tear.

i was thinking to save hacking the mast and poles apart to add a rotator to the base of the mast, it saves weight when hoisting the mast and its one less weakspot at high level and a damm sight easier to deal with.

i was thinking of using a car tyre steel rim as the foundation, the tyre bearing then sticks up out of the steel rim with the mast on top, the roller bearing in the wheel hub acting as the base rotation point.

that would leave the rotator device sat in between the hub and the mast some how

what do you think, possible??
