When to add bleach or other purification method to stored drinking water
Alrighty guys and gals, here's a question...
I, and my disabled mother whom I care for, were wondering about a specific issue concerning stored drinking and cooking water. When the water (i.e. tap water) has been effectively filtered and poured in the storage jugs(3 & 5 gallon), is it best to add the drops of bleach, or other purification/disinfectant measures, when first storing the water, or shortly before when the water will be used? Personally, I want to say the latter of the two options, but I thought I'd go ahead and pose the question here; both to humor my mom, as well as hopefully avoid making any mistakes, particularly life-threatening ones.
