Winter Road Trip

Posting this to see what others think. I'm considering a multi day road trip in a couple of weeks from Minneapolis to Rapid City SD, then to Jackson, WY, to Boise, ID, to Spokane, WA. Then turn right and head to Bozeman, MT, to Denver and back to the Midwest.

I have a 4wd. I plan on getting a hotel in each city. I plan on packing a kit including tow straps, snow shovel, come along, and basic survival gear. I would check the weather every morning and see if the route is feasible. I'm prepared to make changes accordingly.

Other than the Rapid City to Boise trek, the trip will be on 4 lane highways. The goal is to "scout" out several new cities for possible relocation in early 2020. The goal is to identify a couple of cities that I can then spend more time in and learn more about. (I've done the preliminaries already).

Given the weather and road conditions, is this an advisable trip for this time of year?
