I am looking for cheap options to gather and transmit information that DO NOT REQUIRE wifi. I do not have passion to connect hundreds or thousands of feet of cable but I am concerned that wifi can be scrambled easily. I want to build a greenhouse. It will require temperature sensors, humidity sensors, lighting sensors, the ability to turn pumps, lights and CO2 tanks on and off...as well as the typical video cam and sound stuff. Is there any way that this can be done with network hubs/routers? Maybe connected to a raspberry pi or arduino, the micro pc's gather and processing data. Am interested in opinions here, with a bend towards low cost and flexible.
