It is not legal for all practical purposes the average person to legally make Whiskey, but at one time in Colonial America it was an important way to make a product that could be stored and readily shipped. If we ever have a prolonged disaster that disrupts normal commerce it would again be of great value as a trade item. I do not drink myself, but I know a lot of people that do. There is always a market for alcohol. Alcohol can also be used to power engines.
