Post War P-38Need some educating

Need some education . Picked up a Walther P38 at todays gun show. Slide has some external pitting. bore is clean has a spare mag. Its in 9 so I'm good on ammo. Its a back up so not my primary by far. Have under $300 in it just don't know a lot about em. Thanks in advance .
