Making a Gemsbok Recurve, tips for working with horn?

I am finally scratching the itch to build a gemsbok horn bow. I have wanted to do one ever since I saw one in the first edition of Traditional Bowyer's Bible. (It's kind of a bucket list item.)

In my mind is a riser of Desert Ironwood, with the limbs bent by heat to a slight recurve, maybe a 7-8 inch brace height.

This will not be a takedown, I intend to epoxy and pin the limbs to the riser.

I think I will wrap the base of the horns with either sinew(real or fake not sure yet), then rawhide, to avoid cracking and splintering, then a leather cover with double loop lacing for looks.

Keep the knobs on the horn if possible, and polish the horns to a high gloss.

Traditional all the way, Turkey feathers on cedar shafts, might cut my own nocks out of elk antler.

Intend to make my own triangle broadheads out of stainless steel scrap I get from the metal shop down the road, think the plate is 3/32nds of an inch thick.

I have made one selfbow before, but that was a long time ago.

What to do for target points?

How about string?

I figure this will pull in the 70-90# range, haven't pulled a bow that stout in quite some time.

Thoughts would be appreciated.
