The difference being that when folks like Holmes or Pons and Fleischman stand up and profess the new, too good to be true miracle, anyone not doing their due diligence before writing a check frankly deserves it. At worst, you’ve lost some money. But when someone stands at the podium professing acceptability and respectability for such heinous activity, what due diligence is available is mostly based on existing morals and ethics. Both of which are sorely lacking anywhere except in Faith based teaching. (Let’s leave out the long term deleterious effects on the kid for now.)And since the majority of Ted watchers are all about Science at the exclusion of Faith, the “fact check” we’d normally apply simply doesn’t exist for them.

Sorry, being allowed to promote such concentrated evil on any format, much less on something with that veneer of respectability, is still evil in itself.
