DIY Ultralight Cozy for bowls

Hey peoples , I made up a cozy to insulate one of the dried noodle soups microwaveable bowls that come with the soup inside.

I thought I would post it to inspire others who may not want to heat in a freezer bag.

Using these disposable bowls is both super light and super cheap a win win.

The photos are fairly self explanatory

The aluminum tape cost about $10 the black underlay insulation was free and I payed $1 for the bowl o soup which taste particularly great when consumed outdoors.

I tested the insulated bowl against the non insulated with boiling water and a IR thermometer with good results.

The outside of the cozy vs inside water temperature

Cozy - 94* / Water 199*

5 minutes 91* and 192*

10 minutes 89* and 182*

as a bonus it kept some 5 minute rice I tested hot for over 20 minutes.

Without Cozy

The outside of the bowl was as hot as the inside

And all temperatures were at least 10* cooler then the insulated bowls readings.
